By creating an account or purchasing a course on Expert Skills (the "Service"), you ("you", "your") agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, don't use the Service. Capitalized terms used here have the meaning given in this document. Expert Skills ("we", "our", "us") is a UKRLP-registered learning provider, UKPRN 10092631.
1. Eligibility and account
You must be 16 or older to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us immediately at support@expertskills.org if you suspect unauthorized access. You may not share your account, transfer it, or create accounts using automated means or fake identities.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Copy, redistribute, mirror, or resell course content.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Use scrapers, bots, or other automated tools to access the Service except via documented APIs we provide.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any other person or entity.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice, and may withhold any unfinished diploma in cases of substantiated abuse.
3. Payment, subscriptions, and access
Course prices are listed in US dollars on each course page and are charged at checkout via Stripe. Applicable taxes are added at checkout where required by law. Prices may change at any time, but a change does not affect courses you have already purchased.
Subscriptions and automatic renewal. Some products are sold as subscriptions or recurring access extensions. When you start one, you authorize us (through Stripe) to automatically charge your payment method on a recurring basis (for example, every month) at the then-current price until you cancel. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel at any time from your account billing settings or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation always stops future renewals. For an all-access subscription, cancellation takes effect immediately and your subscription access ends as soon as you cancel. For a recurring course-access extension, cancelling stops future renewals and you keep the course access you have already paid for until it expires. Except where required by law, amounts already charged are non-refundable and we do not pro-rate partial periods.
Course access period. Unless stated otherwise, a one-time course purchase grants access for a limited period — currently two months from enrollment — not lifetime access. When access expires you can purchase an extension or take out a subscription to regain it; an active all-access subscription keeps your courses available while the subscription is active. Any diploma already issued remains a valid credential regardless of whether your course access has expired.
4. Refund policy
Course purchases are non-refundable unless required by law. Because access to course content is granted immediately and the content is digital, all sales are final once you have signed in to your course materials.
If you believe you are entitled to a refund under applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction (for example, the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations cooling-off period for digital content), contact us within 14 days of purchase at support@expertskills.org and we will review your request in good faith.
Digital content and the right to cancel. Where you have a statutory right to cancel a purchase of digital content (such as the EU/UK 14-day right of withdrawal), that right is lost once supply of the digital content has begun with your consent. By purchasing and accessing the course materials immediately, you expressly consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose the right to withdraw once access has begun. For subscriptions and extensions, cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current billing period.
5. Intellectual property
All course materials — including videos, text, audio, images, workbooks, assessments, and downloadable resources — are the property of Expert Skills or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
When you purchase a course, you are granted a limited, personal, non- transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use the materials for your own learning. Courses are licensed, not sold. You may not copy, redistribute, share, publicly display, or use the materials for any commercial purpose without our prior written permission. The license terminates automatically if you violate these Terms.
Copyright complaints. If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, email support@expertskills.org with: identification of the work; the location of the material on the Service; your contact details; a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights-holder or authorized to act for them. We respond to valid notices in accordance with applicable law, including the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and may remove the material and/or terminate repeat infringers.
6. Diplomas and accreditation
Expert Skills is registered with the UK Register of Learning Providers under UKPRN 10092631. Diplomas are issued under that registration on successful completion of all assessments in a course.
Expert Skills is not a degree-granting institution. Our diplomas are vocational and continuing-education credentials, not academic degrees. Whether a particular diploma is accepted by a particular employer, immigration authority, or further-education institution is at that organization's sole discretion. We make no guarantee of employment, salary outcomes, visa approval, or further-study admission.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers — Stripe (payments), Supabase (data storage and authentication), Resend and Brevo (email), Google (optional "Sign in with Google" and file hosting), PostHog (product analytics), hCaptcha (bot protection), EasyPost (shipping), Vercel (hosting), and Sentry (error monitoring). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms; we are not responsible for their availability or actions. See our Privacy Policy for how each handles your data.
8. Termination
You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, for security reasons, or where we are required to do so by law. On termination, your right to access course materials ends, though completed diplomas already issued under UKPRN 10092631 remain valid credentials.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Expert Skills and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Service. Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid Expert Skills in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example, liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Expert Skills and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any third-party rights.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts, except where applicable law in your jurisdiction gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts (for example, EU and UK consumer protection rules).
Binding arbitration; class-action waiver (US users). If you are in the United States, you and Expert Skills agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that is not first resolved informally will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court — except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual-property rights. You and Expert Skills waive any right to a jury trial and to bring or participate in a class, collective, or representative action; claims must be brought only in an individual capacity, and the arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any class proceeding.
30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing support@expertskills.org with your name, account email, and a statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
This arbitration agreement and class-action waiver do not apply where prohibited by law, including to consumers in the EU and UK, who keep their statutory rights to bring proceedings in their local courts and are not required to arbitrate.
13. General
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Expert Skills regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign or transfer these Terms; we may assign them to a successor or affiliate. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure). You agree to receive notices, agreements, and disclosures from us electronically, and that electronic delivery satisfies any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced via an email to your account address. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
